home of contemporary porcelain designs
Kina Ceramics was founded in 2013 by Kina Gorska, graduate of Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland. Her studio focuses on creating modern crockery, figurines and giftware. She adopted factory production process to fit a small scale studio and uses slip casting technique. Her distinctive designs, made of fine bone china are characterized by visually pleasing shapes, often inspired by natural processes. Minimal and simple forms are combined with organic or usable objects. Shapes of fingers, faucets or spikes instead of handles may surprise or intrigue when it comes to traditional crockery but the dishes are fully functional. She also reaches to her drawings to decorate products with graphics or uses variety of pigments to give colour to her designs. Bone china as material is quite unpredictable, therefore each project is carefully explored in sketches, planned into production process and experimented in prototypes. Kina's passion for ceramic design is reflected in a wide range of different projects. Customers will find in her shop both classic and more quirky crockery and also contemporary ceramic giftware. Trendy pineapple coffee cups and tea mugs, mugs with fingers, spiky mugs, figurines of cute monsters or wedding ring pillows are only a few examples of them. Kina is open to artistic experiments, collaboration with other artists and customised orders. There is a space in her workshop where customer's concepts can come into live.
Kina Ceramics studio is located in the centre of Oxford featuring gallery and studio open to public.
